My Christmas list was also my birthday list, and my mom just kind of split it. It helped that I had a sibling, so we always got about equal for Christmas, and then my mom gave me less for my birthday. Also, with clothes my mom usually saved more of those for my birthday, because it was more exciting to open toys for Christmas, especially since that's what my sister mostly got. I’m not a mom, but my birthday is about as far from Christmas as your son’s birthday (January 15). My Christmas list was also my birthday list, and my mom just kind of split it.
